Course/Weather
Course: P-T-P (point to point) starts in quaint downtown San Luis Obispo and heads south, continuing on beautiful country roads to picturesque Shell Beach Road. The last two miles are slightly downhill with a stunning ocean view. The race finishes in Pismo Beach at Dinosaur Caves Park. The course has very slight inclines and runs only a few feet downhill to sea level. Average high temperature in San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach during late October is 75 degrees. Average rainfall is .05 inches. No pets or stroller/joggers allowed on the 1/2 marathon course. This year's course will be certified.
5K Run/Walk
The 5k run/ walk course from Dinosaur Cave Park takes you through the ocean front neighborhoods of Shell Beach, finishing back at the park. No pets allowed on the course, however, baby stroller/joggers are permitted on the 5k walk/run ONLY.
Shuttle Information
Pre-Race - Ride On, a nonprofit, community-based organization will be providing marathon participants transportation from the Pismo Beach area to the race start line. Please call Ride On directly for details and reservations at 805-541-8747.
Post-Race - Transportation will be provided after the race (10:30 - 12:00) from Dinosaur Cave Park to downtown San Luis Obispo.
Aid
Five aid stations including liquids and emergency medical services are provided throughout the course

You can pick up your race packet on Saturday or Sunday morning.

The good stuff...
All registered runners will receive a long sleeve event tee shirt, finishers medal and post race breakfast at Dinosaur Caves Park overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Additional meal tickets may be purchased for $10 at the event.

Safety
The course will only be open for three hours. Walkers must finish within that time period to participate in the half-marathon. Walkers that start before the race starting time will NOT be allowed through the finish chute.Sorry, no baby strollers, baby joggers, pets, or skates allowed on the course 1/2 marathon course, however strollers and baby joggers are allowed on the 5k course. Considerations made for runners with special needs. The course is suitable for wheelchair athletes.
